VIP Card Printing [top]

VIP cards should let your VIP be proud to display their card and provide them - and you - with valuable information about their status with you. Here's some helpful advice from My1Stop to guide you through your VIP card printing project.

VIP card design and card features make up the basics of VIP card printing. Combine your great card design with all of the right features and you'll end up with a card that will get used.

To achieve a design worthy of your members and your organization, consider the benefits of printing your VIP card design with full color graphics on a white card. Full color digital printing will give terrific quality printing of high quality graphics like logos, photos and even multiple colored text. Using full color on a white card enables you to make your brand to standout much more than it would on old style colored cards printed in one or two colors.

Because white cards tend to cost slightly less than colored cards and digital printing tends to cost slightly more than one color printing you can have full color VIP card printing at very competitive with colored card pricing. We suggest that you design your VIP cards in full color to be printed on standard sized 3 3/8” x 2 1/8” white cards.

VIP Card Printing - Sizes [top]

There are two standard sizes you should consider for VIP card printing. The traditional card size is 3 3/8” x 2 1/8” while the grocery-store frequent buyer-like cards are 1 1/6" x 2 7/8". The larger card is the same size as most credit cards and is sometimes called the CR 80 size. The grocery store key fob or key chain VIP cards are growing in popularity because they are more visible on the key chain than the traditional cards are in a wallet or purse.

What’s the best size for your VIP cards?

The traditional 3 3/8” x 2 1/8” standard size allows plenty of room for design flexibility and branding such as logos and tag lines. The smaller grocery-store like key chain card constricts your design options quite a bit. But, the smaller size and the key chain hole can make this a very visible and convenient card for your members to carry. This smaller size is a great option if your members use their card more than once a week and if your graphics will fit the card size. Be sure that your membership card system can read and write to this smaller format mag stripe on the back of your VIP cards.

Should we design a custom size or shape?

Your VIP cards can be custom sized and shaped. My1Stop has customer service representatives who can help take the confusion out of the order process. Keep in mind that while custom shapes will draw a bit more attention to your VIP cards, they will cost more and take longer to produce than their standard sized and shaped counterparts.

VIP Card Printing - Material [top]

The most economical choice for VIP card printing is our standard white 30 mil card. Traditional credit cards and the newer small format 1 1/6" x 2 7/8" VIP cards are printed on this card material. Thinner materials, such as 20 mil and 12 mil white cards are also readily available. My1Stop is pleased to offer custom VIP card printing materials, but keep in mind that the thinner materials are not always less expensive - nor do they wear as well as the thicker, standard weight material.

VIP Card Printing - Options [top]

What VIP card options do you need? VIP card printing typically includes a magnetic strip, a signature panel and often the VIP members name and a bar code. VIP card printing can also include key chain holes and almost any feature you might care to add.

The mag stripe is certainly an important option. The mag stripe encodes the important VIP member information like account numbers, membership type, name, address, phone number and more. VIP card mag stripes can also be used to track customer purchases, frequency of use and other marketing information. If you do not have a system of VIP information processing capabilities, just let our customer service know. They might be able to match you up with a VIP card processing system company.

Variable printing of VIP cards is well worth considering. Variable printing lets you have each VIP card printed with the members name or other information. This information can now printed - rather than embossed - for a clean smooth finish. Variable information can also include other text like a VIP member number, a photo or other image.

Most VIP cards have a signature panel. The signature panel will help you authenticate the card holder before granting them use of their VIP membership card and privileges. Signature panels can be printed on the front or the back of the membership card. The panel is printed in white matte ink that is suitable for ink and marker pen signatures.

Bar codes can be added for quick scan in or scan out of a VIP member. Most often used in retail settings, bar codes can be applied to most VIP cards in different symbologies and sizes.
