Shingling inserts in 9” x 14.5” foil printed pocket folders allows multiple sheets to be displayed at one time. Smaller than standard custom foil folders can be designed for holding folded brochures, rack cards and smaller documents snugly in smaller pockets. As a rule of thumb, order custom foil folders if the inserts will be wider – or narrower - than 8.5” or taller than 14” or shorter than 11”.
Custom foil pocket folders require custom cutting dies. Making the die for your custom foil presentation folder increases costs and turnaround times for your foil folders.

To determine how many and what kind of pockets your foil printed pocket folders need, determine what the pockets will need to hold. Here are some pocket guidelines for foil presentation folder:
- Do all of the inserts need to be visible all the time?
- If so, are there 1, 2 or more inserts to display?
- If there are 3 or more inserts that must be visible, can they be layered or shingled?
- Do the pockets need slits for business cards or DVD’s or CD’s?
- If business card slits are needed, will they hold landscape or portrait style cards?
If only 1 insert needs to be visible, and if the total thickness of all inserts is less than .25”, then order a foil presentation folder with just one pocket. If 2 inserts must be visible and if the total thickness of all inserts is less than .5”, then order a foil presentation folder with 2 pockets – 1 on each side. The standard pocket size for a foil presentation folder is 4" by 4". Order pocket slits to accommodate the business cards or CDs to be inserted into the pockets of your foil presentation folders. Custom printed pockets for custom foil folders are available, contact customer service.
If more than 2 inserts must be visible in your foil stamped folders, you have two options. If the inserts can be shingled or layered, then order a standard-sized foil presentation folder. If the inserts cannot be shingled, then design custom foil folders. We have design help.
