Name plates design should feature prominent graphics and colors that readily identify your company or product. The best name plates design should include these two basic design elements: your company or product name with logo - and - a material (or background color) selected to contrast well with your company colors.

Name Plates - Shapes and Sizes

The size of your name plates should be determined by these factors:
- What are dimensions in height and width of the area where the name plates will be affixed?
- What is the shape of the area where the name plates will be affixed?
- Are any internal cuts or holes required for mounting?
Once you have the answers to these questions, you can plan your design accordingly. Having access to the product design files might be helpful to you, particularly if the product requires an unusual shape for the name plate. From the design files or from a sample of the product, size your design as needed.

- Lexan®
- LexSaver™
- Polyester 2 mil gloss white or clear
Lexan® is a very durable polycarbonate. The velvet finish on the top surface is printed in mirror image on the backside to provide a subsurface printed name plates. A clear 2 mil or 5 mil 3M 467MP or 468MP is laminated to the printed backside and any internal cutouts (for bolts or screws as an example) are cut from the Lexan®. The nameplate printing is protected by the 10 mils of Lexan® while velvet finish on the surface protects against minor surface abrasions keeping name plates looking good for the long term.
LexSaver™ is a combination of durable polyester or vinyl material for name plates that is overlaminated with a 5 mil Lexan® after printing. LexSaver™ is an economical alternative to 10 mil Lexan® name plates printing. LexSaver™ is also much more flexible that Lexan® making it a superior material choice for name plates that must conform to unusual shape areas.
Polyester 2 mil gloss white or clear material is the perfect choice for smaller applications without severe temperature, abrasion or moisture concerns.

Barcodes and numbering for name plates label printing. Your name plates can include a bar code. The bar code can be used to store information about the specific product the name plates are attached to such as serial number, version or model number and the like. We offer most types of barcode printing including 3 of 9 barcode printing, code 128 barcode printing and code 2 of 5 barcode printing. Name plate barcodes are digitally printed allowing the highest available black-to-white printing ratios for optimal barcode readability.
Serial numbers - We offer serial numbers as barcodes (described above) or as human readable numbers. The numbers can be sequential and can be printed with any prefix, suffix and mix of numbers and letters you need. They can be printed in any size and in any ink color. Human readable numbers can be set up to match a barcode. This type of numbering is useful for quick reference when a scanner is not in use.
Variable text and images - Using Digital label printing methods, My1Stop® can print name plates with varying text, images or numbering from name plate to name plate. Your name plates can include different logos, part numbers or descriptions on some or on every name plate.
Internal cut outs - Name plates can include cut outs within the body of the plate itself. Digitally cutting the holes allows an approximately 1/64" or larger to be made. This is a useful feature if your name plates require affixing by screws or bolts or if your name plates must fit over a feature of your product.
